4 Information requirements

This clause specifies the information requirements for the Assembly module with packaged component application module. The information requirements are specified as the Application Reference Model (ARM) of this application module.

NOTE 1  A graphical representation of the information requirements is given in Annex C.

NOTE 2  The mapping specification is specified in 5.1. It shows how the information requirements are met by using common resources and constructs defined or imported in the MIM schema of this application module.

This clause defines the information requirements to which implementations shall conform using the EXPRESS language as defined in ISO 10303-11. The following begins the Assembly_module_with_packaged_component_arm schema and identifies the necessary external references.

EXPRESS specification:

*)
SCHEMA Assembly_module_with_packaged_component_arm;
(*

4.1 Required AM ARMs

The following EXPRESS interface statements specify the elements imported from the ARMs of other application modules.

EXPRESS specification:

*)
USE FROM Altered_package_arm;    --  ISO/TS 10303-1601

USE FROM Assembly_module_design_arm;    --  ISO/TS 10303-1636

USE FROM Packaged_part_black_box_model_arm;    --  ISO/TS 10303-1710
(*

NOTE 1   The schemas referenced above are specified in the following part of ISO 10303:

Altered_package_arm ISO/TS 10303-1601
Assembly_module_design_arm ISO/TS 10303-1636
Packaged_part_black_box_model_arm ISO/TS 10303-1710

NOTE 2   See Annex C, Figures C.1and C.2 for a graphical representation of this schema.

4.2 ARM entity definitions

This subclause specifies the ARM entities for this module. Each ARM application entity is an atomic element that embodies a unique application concept and contains attributes specifying the data elements of the entity. The ARM entities and definitions are specified below.

4.2.1 Packaged_component   EXPRESS-GMapping table

A Packaged_component is a type of Physical_component and a type of Single_instance. A Packaged_component is an instantiation of a Packaged_part at a given location within the context of an assembly.

EXPRESS specification:

*)
ENTITY Packaged_component
  SUBTYPE OF (Physical_component, Single_instance);
  SELF\Definition_based_product_occurrence.derived_from : Packaged_part;
  selected_package_alternate : OPTIONAL Altered_package;
INVERSE
  access_mechanism : SET[0:?] OF Packaged_component_join_terminal FOR associated_definition;
END_ENTITY;
(*

Attribute definitions:

derived_from: specifies the role of the Packaged_part for the Packaged_component.

selected_package_alternate: specifies the role of the Altered_package for the Packaged_component. The value of this attribute overrides the used_package when the size of that attribute is one or selects a specific item when there are more than one in the aggregate. The value of this attribute need not be specified.

access_mechanism: specifies an inverse relationship that specifies that the existence of the Packaged_component is dependent on the existence of the Packaged_component_join_terminal that specifies the Packaged_component as its associated_definition. There shall be zero or more Packaged_component_join_terminal for a Packaged_component.

4.2.2 Packaged_component_join_terminal   EXPRESS-GMapping table

A Packaged_component_join_terminal is a type of Physical_component_terminal. A Packaged_component_join_terminal is one termination for a Packaged_component. The terminal provides access to the electrical functionality of the Packaged_part being terminated.

EXAMPLE    Figure 1 illustrates a detail of an assembly drawing that shows a microcircuit plugged into a socket, and the role of the Packaged_component_join_terminal.

Figure 1 —  Packaged_component_join_terminal

EXPRESS specification:

*)
ENTITY Packaged_component_join_terminal
  SUBTYPE OF (Physical_component_terminal);
  SELF\Component_feature.definition : Packaged_part_join_terminal;
  SELF\Component_feature.associated_definition : Packaged_component;
WHERE
  WR1: NOT EXISTS(SELF\Shape_element.description);
END_ENTITY;
(*

Attribute definitions:

definition: specifies the role of the Packaged_part_join_terminal for the Packaged_component_join_terminal.

associated_definition: specifies the Packaged_component being accessed by the Packaged_component_join_terminal.

Formal propositions:

WR1: The description shall not be populated.
